Well there is a way (not only) to generate. Exe and using the free tool JSmooth.

I. - CHARACTERISTICS OF JSMOOTH

  • is free.
    • can generate an executable that contains the application or use a separate jar.
    • can add messages to the user to install the application correctly.
    • may include the JRE (for the application to use in a specific directory) so the user does not need to install it.
II .- REQUIREMENTS

III .- CREATION. EXE

  1. Choosing the project skeleton .- Well the first part depends greatly on the application for which we want to create the executable. In our case we use an application window and choose the option that Windowed Wrapper . JSmooth offers two options for console applications (command line) applications and windows:

    Here we must take into account some considerations:

    • Message: is the message that is displayed to the user when the virtual machine (JRE) is not.
    • URL: indicates the URL where users can download the JRE
    • Launck exe java app in the process: serves to launch the Java application in another separate process.
    • Debug console: If checked, will display a Windows command line with all the details about what goes on behind. (This is useful to know how the JSmooth).
  2. .- Setting the executable is where we will tell JSmooth we create an executable, it indicates the place where you create the executable and the icon of the executable (in Executable Binry have to type in the path where to create the executable)

Configuring the application .- In this part we first choose the jar of the application, a fact that we seek to Main class and main class project (It is important to follow the order that they can see the list of classes of your project in the Main class), in my case I have only one class will be the main JFrame called within the class will my main if you have the main method in a class apart as they should choose this class:

  4. Configuring virtual machine .- Here we set some virtual machine data, such as:
    • Minimum JVM Version: indicates the minimum version virtual machine will have to install the user to run the application, 1.5 is recommended.
    • Maximun JVM version: Indicates the maximum version that should have, but leave it blank is better.
    • JVM Bundle: This part is great because we can add the executable virtual machine so the user does not have to be installed; one should specify the location where the JRE is in our PC and will look JSmooth and add to our project.
    • JVM Search Sequence: If we have not activated the JVM Bundle this option allows you to tell us the order of search JSmooth virtual machine-

  5. Generating executable .- First save the project and then go to Project → Compile to generate the executable, they should get something like this:
